Job Summary
FULL-TIME DAYS
The Food Service Worker performs various jobs for patient food preparation. Other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
General Functions:
- Performs duties for patient tray preparation, retail sales and catering
- Assembles patients’ trays
- Chops, slices and peels food
- Transports carts to and from the different units
- Delivers trays and snacks to the patient
- Transports food to other areas as needed
- Washes pots and pans by hand and by machine
- Cleans and sanitizes dishes
- Operates, cleans and sanitizes necessary equipment
- Sweeps and mops all areas of the department
- Collects and disposes of trash
- Stocks and cleans nourishment rooms/refrigerators as assigned
- Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations
- Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
- Maintains safe work environment
- Addresses patient population-specific needs
- Participates in Performance Improvement activities
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Able to read, write and understand the English language.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year in patient-feeding food service establishment.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food Manager course or Certified Food Manager from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District
