Job Summary
We rely on and trust our Assistant Business Office to work and support the Business office Manager for the completion of all business office tasks, including but not limited to accounts payable and general administration. Implement procedures for timely and appropriate record-keeping, billing, data management, statistical analysis, and information system reports related to Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care and Insurance billing.
Responsibilities
- Performs and/or assists with the completion of all business office related functions
- Assist families with Medicaid eligibility process, including documenting in the appropriate systems all follow-up and monitoring until the process is complete
- Reviews analyze and interpret financial data to monitor progress toward established goals; identifies deterrents to success and implements improvements as necessary to enhance efficiencies and results; facilitates effective problem resolution and development of business office goals and objectives
- Act as team member as it relates to all business office functions and staffing
- Assures appropriate maintenance of all business office equipment
- Coordinates the daily flow of financial information /documentation to and from the billing office to facilitate the timely billing and collection of accounts receivable.
- Supports the Business office Manager with daily office operations and ensure efficient workflow
- Participate in the development of office policies and procedures to enhance productivity and process improvement opportunities
- Assist with the preparation of facility portion of annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports
- Participate in facility audits related to Medicare and/or Medicaid cost report.
- Assist with maintaining accurate files for all Managed Medicare residents with authorizations for billing & audit purposes
- Assist with review of Part A resident information in system for accuracy before claims are printed
- Send changes/corrections to billing company for Medicare A/B & Managed Care A/B claims
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Seniors Housing Assisted Living/Skilled Nursing business office to include Medicaid, Medicaid Waiver, Medicare, Managed Care and Insurance
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Proficiency in calendar management and scheduling software
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial reporting
- Experience in front desk operations with a focus on customer service excellence
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
