Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social skills
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Support children’s developmental milestones through personalized care plans that incorporate early childhood education principles
- Manage classroom routines, including meal times, nap schedules, and transitions between activities with effective classroom management techniques
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns
- Assist children with daily tasks such as diapering, dressing, and hygiene routines for infants and toddlers
- Implement behavior management strategies to foster positive interactions and emotional development
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or similar settings
- Knowledge of childhood development stages and best practices in early childhood education
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; ongoing training is encouraged
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus
- Strong classroom experience with toddlers or infants; ability to manage multiple children effectively
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and families
- Demonstrated patience, compassion, and enthusiasm for working with children of diverse backgrounds
