What are the responsibilities and job description for the Childcare Worker position at First Methodist Church Sherman?
First Methodist Sherman is looking for a dependable, experienced, and friendly Childcare Worker to join our team! If you enjoy getting to know and care for children, updating their families on activities and behavior, and keeping the nursery safe and clean, then this would be a great opportunity for you.
Responsibilities also include:
- Providing age-appropriate care, including feeding, changing diapers, escorting to the bathroom, putting children down for naps, holding, or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, lessons, play, and prayer
- Establishing trust and a good rapport with parents/guardians by reporting behaviors, feedings, and diaper changes, as well as a summary of activities in which the child participated
- Responding with sensibility and great care in the case of an emergency, and immediately notify the parent/guardian
All Childcare Workers are required to complete and follow Ministry Safe training and policies, undergo a background check, and complete CPR training. You will report to our Director of Children’s Ministries. Must be available to work on holidays, evenings, and weekends.
