Requirements
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Interview, hire, supervise, coach, evaluate, discipline and assist employees in setting and meeting performance goals. Develop and monitor performance and responsibilities of assigned staff while monitoring staffing patterns
- Prepare department budgets, statistical monthly report, and budget variance report. Prepare specialized reports upon request
- Serve as a resource to residents and other customers by offering innovative recommendations for quality events and entertainment opportunities
- Develop relationships and trust with clients while understanding and anticipating their needs, wants and desires
- Schedule events and prepare contracts
- Set up and breakdown events
- Delegate job duties to ensure functions are completed
- Be aware of cost and cost controls and charge appropriately
- Serve on a rotating basis as the Weekend/Holiday Manager on Duty
- Additional duties as assigned
- Computer, including Microsoft Office and other scheduling components
- Ovens, stoves and all related kitchen equipment
- Telephones, calculators and general office equipment
- Mop, broom and required cleaning equipment
- Point of Sale system
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time depending on the event assignment
- Must be able to bend, stoop and reach for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds without assistance, 36 pounds with manual or mechanical assistance
- Culinary knowledge, skills and background
- Ability to serve and handle a variety of foods including meat, poultry, seafood, dairy and eggs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong communication skills – ability to communicate with staff at management level, verbally and in writing
- Ability to research and compile data upon request, knowledge of spreadsheets and reports
- Flexibility with work schedule
- Exemplary time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal or no direct supervision
- Demonstrated artistic and creative abilities
- High School Diploma or Equivalency or combination education and experience to fulfill requirements of position
- SERV Safe certification OR must obtain within one year of hire
- Three to five years of culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant setting with catered events
- Two or more years catering management experience
- Culinary Arts certification
- Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or other related field
- Budgetary experience
- High standard of integrity. Displays actions consistent with statements. Truthful; elicits trust and respect.

- Strong leadership skills and ability; links long range strategic visions and concepts to daily work
