Quality Engineer I : $80,000 - 90,000
Summary
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer is responsible for the assembly, review and presentation of Product Acceptance Data Packages to customers which include interfacing with government organizations such as DCMA. Data includes FAI, OQE, TDP, VIR, and VPAR. Additional responsibilities will include but not be limited to overseeing Calibration and Internal Audit Programs, performing Supplier Audits, assist in providing inspection process support with participation in electronic Material Review Board and Corrective Action activities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Time is spent equally between a typical office environment and a manufacturing environment with no major sources of discomfort. Essentially normal controlled working environments with noise levels within acceptable safety limits and acceptable lighting and temperature conditions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Establishing methods for inspection which can include the generation of Quality Inspection Plans (QIPs) and Work Instructions.
- Providing support for the ongoing retention of our ISO 9001 certification.
- Providing support to maintain and monitor key quality metrics.
- Supporting continuous improvement activities and leading assigned improvement projects such as process capability studies, pareto analysis, reporting, and coordinating CI activities with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales.
- Schedule and host source inspections.
- Communicate with customers on product issues.
- Troubleshoot technical data related to customer products and requests.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to interpret mechanical blueprints including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (ANSI Y 14.5)
- Must have a basic understanding of metrology and part inspection.
- Must be computer literate with good MS Office skills.
- BS or Technology Degree (manufacturing or mechanical related). Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- ASQ Certifications (Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor) - Preferred
- 0-3 years of post-graduate experience
- Experience reading and interpreting customer Purchase Orders and specifications
- Ability to move about a large manufacturing facility.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to wear PPE as necessary (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, etc.).
