Manufacturing Cost & Planning Analyst

Summary
Westland Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Cost & Planning Analyst to support the transition of the Westland facility from an Average Actual Costing methodology to a Standard Costing model as part of a major ERP implementation.
This role sits at the intersection of manufacturing operations, production planning, and cost accounting. The position will focus on developing and maintaining manufacturing master data—including Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, labor standards, and cost structures—to support accurate standard costing, production planning, and ERP system functionality.
The ideal candidate understands how manufacturing actually works on the shop floor and can translate those processes into structured data and costing models within an ERP system.

Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Costing
- Support implementation and maintenance of standard costing models
- Analyze standard vs. actual cost variances and partner with Operations and Finance to improve accuracy
- Assist with cost rollups, inventory valuation, and WIP tracking
- Develop and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) and manufacturing routings
- Define labor standards, setup/run times, and work center structures
- Ensure manufacturing data supports accurate costing and production planning
- Assist with MRP and production planning activities
- Support development of production schedules and capacity assumptions
- Identify planning constraints and recommend process improvements
- Support ERP implementation activities related to:
Manufacturing master data
MRP / planning structures
- Assist with data migration, validation, and system testing
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or Accounting (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing costing
- Production planning / MRP
- BOMs and routings
- Manufacturing data analysis
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT
- ERP implementation experience
- Experience transitioning from average costing to standard costing
- Experience with ERP reporting tools or Power BI
