Responsibilities
- Correspond with insurance companies to resolve payment delays, requests for additional information, or to discuss denied treatment coverage
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding claims
- Handle all inquiries concerning insurance daily
- Document basic insurance information in the patient’s file for quick reference
- Provide the appointment coordinator with patient names and amounts due, so effective collection over the counter can take place during the day
- Identify patients in the daily schedule who are a financial concern, note payment problems on the patient’s chart, and arrange a conference with them either before or at the time of the appointment
- Scheduling of patient appointments, monitoring, and managing a productive schedule
Qualifications
- 2 years of dental insurance coordinating experience is a must
- Knowledge of Dentrix software is highly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Must be able to explain insurance benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and provide costs to patients
- Detail-oriented
- Previous experience and familiarity with dental coding, insurance processing
