What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool and Die Maker position at Westlake Tool & Die Mfg. Co., Inc.?
Seeking experienced Diemaker for toolroom position. Minimum five years of proven die repair and building experience. Candidate will have proficient knowledge of operating toolroom machinery including vertical milling machines, hand feed surface grinders, manual lathes, drill presses and saws. Job entails maintaining existing tooling in support of the production floor, building new tooling as needed, and working with others troubleshooting and problem-solving. Must have own tools.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform changeovers.
- Build new tools/details for metal stamping progressive and single hit dies from CAD print specifications using milling machines, grinding machines and lathes when necessary.
- Prepare blocks for heat treat and CNC machining or Wire EDM.
- Assemble and mount components and prepare tool for punch press.
- The ideal candidate should be able to troubleshoot tooling for in-process adjustments and be able to repair and sharpen tools to keep production of metal stampings accurate to print specification and efficient to meet our customer’s needs.
- Knowledge and experience with progressive punch press dies, single hit dies, and transfers dies must be in your skillset.
