The hours for this position are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
The Fabrication operator duties and responsibilities may include but not be limited to the following:
- Fabricates plastic rods, slabs, and sheets in accordance with Shop Orders.
- Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
- Reads and interprets Shop Orders
- Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
- Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathes, vertical milling machines, drill presses, chop saws, band saws, and planers
- Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machine
- Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling
- Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
- Evaluates experimental procedures and recommends change or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production
- Possesses ability to track parts and jobs
- Utilizes and abides by all safety procedures
- Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions
Requirements
Fabrication operator skills and abilities required:
- Operation of manual lathes, drill presses and other standard job shop machines
- Must understand materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds and machining techniques
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills
- Good communication skills
- Mechanical ability
- Proper use of hand and power tools
- Basic awareness of electricity and the risks attached
- Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those around him/her
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- At least two (2) year experience in a job shop atmosphere
- Knowledge in the safe operation of the following equipment: horizontal lathes of all sizes, portable resurfacing machines and drill presses
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
