Fabrication Technician

Leading Edge Composites, www.Lec-Composites.com located in the Highlands Corporate Park in Coatesville, is a full service, fully integrated design, engineering and manufacturing firm specializing in Aviation, Aerospace and Defense. For over 20 years, Leading Edge Composites has been at the forefront of composite part development and manufacturing, supplying lightweight, state of the art parts for aircraft manufacturers, military research and other structural applications. Leading Edge Composites has been involved with numerous STCs for upgrading and designing internal and external parts for utility, search & rescue and VIP rotor and fixed wing aircraft.

We currently have Fabrication/Cabinetry Technician opening in our composite manufacturing shop. No manufacturing experience is necessary, training provided however experience a plus.

How you will spend your time as our Fabrication/Cabinetry Technician:

• Fabricate and assemble composite and wood parts to tolerances as specified on drawings.
• Locate and lay out trim lines onto work piece
• Trim, drill, ream, countersink, grind, and finish composite and or wood parts to specifications using hand or power tools
• Verify dimensions of parts, using precision instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers and calipers
• Fabricate cabinetry components for the aviation industry.
• Use body fillers to fill composite panels for paint and or veneers.
• Bond and/or assemble subassemblies to form final assemblies
• Install hardware, such as hinges, hinge blocks, panel pins, inserts etc.
• Mix ingredients, such as resins, catalysts, fillers, and/or accelerators according to manufacturer’s instructions
• Perform other shop duties as required

You will be successful if you have the following:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years of cabinetry experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical data such as blueprints or manufacturer’s instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations
• Attention to detail is strongly required for this position
• Must be able to work independently
• Ability to stand for long periods of time

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
