Role snapshot Shift: 2nd shift onlyLocation: Newington, NH (must be local); 100% onsiteReports to: Machine Shop SupervisorCareer levels: All levels encouraged to apply; level determined post-interview based on your skills and plant coverage needs Core responsibilities Operate department CNC/manual machines for metal cutting and forming.Select and apply appropriate measuring devices and hand tools.Work from drawings, sketches, and instructions (written or verbal) consistent with PP-09-01.Machine parts to tight tolerances per engineering documentation.Run any machine tool types you’re qualified for per the training matrix, with minimal training needed.Design, build, and deploy jigs and tooling as required.Verify part quality during machining; ensure tolerances are met before moving forward.Maintain housekeeping, follow criticality and safety procedures, and practice 5S.Load or coordinate loading for your machining center.Oversee multiple machines simultaneously when appropriate.Optionally edit/troubleshoot machining programs if qualified; not mandatory.Perform setups for parts and castings; setup time varies based on size/complexity.Complete general tasks as assigned, take direction from leadership, and operate with minimal guidance. Qualifications & skills High school diploma or equivalent.1 year of experience with proficiency equivalent to a Westinghouse – Newington Machinist B (or recognized equivalent).Working knowledge of CNC G-code.Practical knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and machine setup for quality output.5S familiarity and consistent application.Comfort executing technical, close-tolerance work from engineering drawings and written instructions.Ability to operate a range of machine tool types with limited additional training.Experience determining needs for and fabricating jigs and tooling.Ability to speak, read, and write in English.Programming knowledge preferred.
