A day in this role
You start your day reviewing engineering changes and aligning them with AP-930 standards. You translate design intent into clear, executable work instructions for vendor and craft teams, then head to the field for walkdowns to sharpen package quality. Back at your desk, you collaborate with work management, operations, engineering, and the vendor/craft supervisor to remove roadblocks, finalize materials and tooling, and make procurement recommendations. You participate in work breakdown structure discussions, verify compliance with codes, standards, vendor recommendations, and maintenance direction, and update tasks in Maximo. Some days include work planning for hazardous areas with potential radiation exposure within NRC limits. During outages, you rotate through the schedule to keep milestones on track. Throughout, you track actions in the Action Way (Corrective Action Program) and ensure online and outage commitments are met.
What you'll do
- Build complete electrical work packages with precise task sequencing and instructions for vendor/craft execution.
- Conduct field walkdowns to validate scope, refine instructions, and improve package quality.
- Partner with vendor/craft supervision, work management, operations, and engineering to resolve package issues.
- Recommend and select materials, parts, and tools required for execution; support procurement needs.
- Review engineering changes; participate in work breakdown structure meetings to maintain compliance with applicable codes, standards, vendor recommendations, and maintenance direction.
- Plan to AP-930 standards and align work with outage and online milestones.
- Use Maximo and Action Way (Corrective Action Program) to track work, actions, and documentation.
- Support outage schedule rotation; plan tasks that may involve hazardous areas and potential radiation exposure within NRC limits.
What you bring
- Associate degree in a physical science or engineering discipline, or equivalent technical training/equipment experience in nuclear power plant maintenance.
- 5 years of power plant experience in maintenance or operations, including 3 years at a nuclear facility.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Previous Maximo experience is highly desired.
Pay and benefits
- Hourly pay range: $45/hr to $75/hr (dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills).
