Purpose Of Position
The Production Supervisor ensures efficient, safe, and high-quality grading operations in line with Westfield Egg Farm’s mission and values. This role executes production plans, directs the production team, maintains compliance with SOPs and SQF standards, coordinates shift transitions, and works to minimize downtime while ensuring accurate production reporting.
Essential Characteristics
At times the Production Supervisor will be privileged to information that should not be shared. The incumbent must maintain strict confidentiality in performing the duties of the Production Supervisor. The incumbent must also demonstrate the following personal attributes:
This position requires frequent standing and movement throughout the facility, with occasional walking, climbing stairs or ladders, reaching, handling objects, and communicating. Sitting may be required at times. Employees must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly. Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus. The work environment may involve occasional exposure to airborne particles, chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, moving machinery, vibration, and temperature extremes. Noise levels typically range from moderate to loud.

- Execute production plans built by Westfield Planner. Assist in planning as needed.
- Prepare grader and facility for production.
- Retrieve supplies as needed for production.
- Manage production efficiency to minimize downtime.
- Ensure product is being graded following SOPs and SQF requirements.
- Give direction to team members to achieve smooth operations.
- Coordinate with the Early Morning Shift Production Supervisor to ensure smooth shift transitions.
- Oversee that grade outs represent actual production.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Regular work hours are Monday-Friday, 7 AM - 5 PM, or during grading hours.
- Occasional Saturdays may be required for maintenance, repairs, or grading.
- Must be present during grading hours unless prior arrangements are made.
- Flexibility with breaks and meals is required to allow for equipment maintenance when grading is not in progress.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- 1–3 years of related experience and/or training.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel and data entry.
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance instructions, standard operating procedures, and other technical documents.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence clearly and accurately.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey production plans to both English- and Spanish-speaking team members.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including discounts, interest, and percentages, and to apply basic algebra concepts using Excel.
- Skilled in summarizing and organizing large volumes of data.
