The individual selected for this position will be responsible for assisting the Director with front desk area, answering the front door and phone, and helping to manage childcare management software. This includes enrollment, student information, billing, account management, reminders, tracking hours and birth dates within the software, as well as managing staff hours and timesheets. Communication with parents, families, and teachers with confidentiality, including attendance, accidents and illnesses is important. Supporting teachers with child behavior and other issues as needed. Snack menu and student supplies inventory planning and management, and bi-weekly shopping. Supervise student workers.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR WHICH THIS INDIVIDUAL IS ACCOUNTABLE
1. Welcome and assist children ages two through five each day when they are dropped off.
2. Answer the phone, door, and childcare management messages in a timely manner.
3. Ensure children are in the care of authorized individuals at all times and that the Center is following all safety rules and regulations. Keep emergency backpacks updated and stocked.
4. Maintain confidentiality of all persons involved in the program in accordance with Children's Center and Western Wyoming Community College policy.
5. Assisting the Director with billing, account management, and other childcare management software responsibilities.
6. Make sure front desk area is welcoming, clean, and organized.
7. Foster positive and constructive relationships with children, their families and staff.
8. Treat all children with dignity and respect. Use a warm, caring tone of voice, good body language and facial expression.
9. Assist teachers with child behaviors and illnesses as needed. Contact parents in case of illness.
10. Maintain current Tb test, CPR, first aid, child abuse and neglect, fire safety, blood borne pathogens, and other applicable trainings required. Trainings are provided.
11. Plan healthy daily snack menus and assist with keeping kitchen clean and organized.
12. Shop for supplies. Supervise snack inventory.
13. Refrigerate lunches in a timely manner.
14. Keep book area organized and updated.
15. Assist with washing towels and blankets.
16. Organize field trips and gather parent permissions.
17. Design and put up bulletin boards
18. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education and Experience, Knowledge and Abilities)
1. High School Graduate
2. Two (2) - Three (3) years of experience working with children.
3. Basic computer skills including Word and Excel
4. Ability to pass criminal background check with child abuse screening
Equivalency Statement
For those candidates who do not exactly meet all minimum qualifications, an equivalent combination of education and experience, which has provided comparable knowledge and abilities, may be accepted.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS1. Associate degree in Early Childhood Education
2. Education or experience in office administrative assistance
