Veterinary / Kennel Assistant

Ohio Drive Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary / Kennel Assistant to join our compassionate, fast-paced practice. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with pets and people and wants to make a difference every day.

This can be a Full or Part-Time position with availability needed for some weekdays and rotating Saturday morning & evening shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and comfort for hospitalized and boarding pets, including feeding, walking, and cleaning.
• Assist veterinary technicians and doctors during exams and treatments.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients and staff.
• Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and report concerns promptly.
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous experience in animal care or veterinary setting preferred but not required-we will train the right candidate!
• Ability to handle dogs and cats of all sizes safely and compassionately.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods.

Ohio Drive Animal Hospital is a single-doctor, small animal practice providing exceptional GP services to Plano pets. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality services (with as much TLC as possible) and have made strong connections with our clients throughout the years. We are well equipped, and our surgery caseload is primarily comprised of spays, neuters, mass removals, dental, and foreign bodies. Additionally, we provide pet grooming and have established relationships with specialists in the area for orthopedics and more advanced surgeries.
