Foothill Farms Veterinary Hospital is growing and has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team! Our nursing team plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and in delivering thorough client education.
In this role, you'll rotate between seeing technician appointments independently and working alongside our doctors during exams and procedures. You'll assist with exams and treatments, set up for procedures, and coordinate with your team to manage the veterinarian's orders. This position is ideal for someone with strong foundational nursing skills who excels in client engagement and collaborative care.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with five 8-hour shifts, scheduled Sunday through Thursday.

In addition to general wellness, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry, our team also provides holistic services (such as acupuncture), practices Reiki, and works closely with specialists for more intensive procedures and orthopedics. Our facility is well-equipped and full of incredible teammates who love people as much as they do animals. Our RVTs are well-utilized and many of our staff members are Fear Free certified professionals. Easily accessed off Auburn Blvd, our hospital is in a great location about 10 miles from downtown Sacramento.

Full-time benefits and compensation**:
- Compensation: $21-23 per hour, for each hour worked*
- Bonus package: $500 for those with 3 years of consecutive, current VA experience

- 3 years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
- Proficiency in the following skills:
- Collecting vital signs and keeping medical records
- Venipuncture and administering injections
- Radiography technique and positioning
- In house laboratory processing
- Familiarity with Cornerstone software and Fear Free Certification is a plus!
