Now Hiring – Two Full-Time Veterinary Assistants

Rocklin Ranch Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care is seeking two experienced Veterinary Assistants to join our growing team. We are a busy, AAHA-accredited hospital with 12 doctors and more than 70 team members dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and client service.

Available Schedules

Position 1

• Monday – Friday
• 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Position 2

• Sunday – Thursday
• 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Compensation

• $21.00 – $24.00 per hour
• Compensation dependent on experience and technical skill set

About the Role

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant who is comfortable working independently in exam rooms while supporting our doctors and clients in a fast-paced general practice and urgent care environment.

Candidates should possess strong communication skills, excellent patient handling abilities, and a solid foundation in general practice medicine.

Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities

• Room appointments and obtain accurate patient histories
• Educate clients on preventive care and treatment recommendations
• Perform blood draws, including jugular venipuncture
• Place intravenous catheters
• Assist with patient restraint and handling
• Triage incoming patients and communicate concerns to doctors
• Produce diagnostic radiographs
• Run in-house laboratory diagnostics
• Administer medications and treatments as directed
• Assist with hospitalized patient care
• Discuss vaccination protocols and preventive care recommendations
• Educate clients on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Provide exceptional customer service and client communication

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 1 year of veterinary assistant experience
• Experience rooming appointments
• Proficient patient restraint skills
• Comfortable performing blood draws and IV catheter placement
• Knowledge of vaccination schedules and preventive care
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

• Jugular blood draw experience
• Triage experience
• Diagnostic radiology experience
• Urgent care or high-volume general practice experience
