Cattle Pusher Yard- Clerk (4492)

Western Valley Meat is proud to be a family-owned company, committed to supporting our communities in the Valley. We produce high quality meat items that are sold at grocery stores and restaurants in both the US and around the world.   

We are adding team members to our Harvest Cattle Handling Department to perform a variety of roles and tasks in the initial step of the meat processing facility. The Harvest team sets the high standard for the cleanliness and safety of the products we produce. 

Tasks used to accomplish our goal can include, but are not limited to the following:

Position Description

• Unloading Cattle from trucks
• Caring for cattle onsite
• Providing feed to cattle
• Moving cattle from different pin areas.
• Receiving cattle into computer systems
• Checking the health and welfare of cattle being received
• Work Schedule Start times range from 3am to 830am or other depending on business needs. Workdays can vary from Tuesday to Saturday, Wednesday to Sunday and other workdays.
• Pay Rate is $17.00 for the 90 day probationary period
• Pay ranges from $19.45 to $20.00 depending on job awarded at time of hire.

Routine tasks include, but are not limited to, performing the following:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch and twist while using hands and arms to do simple gripping and grasping.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying objects.
• Working from platforms off the floor.
• Position requires to work with live cattle
• Prior cattle handling experience, preferred 
• Must be able to work in Hot, Humid and cold outside work environment.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen
• Must be able to pass background check
• Ability to follow general workplace safety procedures and policies while wearing required personal protective equipment.
