Your New Role
As an Estimator based in Salem, OR, you’ll play a critical role in preparing detailed and competitive cost estimates for custom engineering and manufacturing projects. Your work will help determine feasibility, win contracts, and drive project success.
- Analyze Requests for Quotations (RFQs), drawings, and specifications
- Complete accurate material takeoffs for steel fabrication and utility structures
- Solicit and evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors
- Prepare full-scope cost estimates, including labor, materials, and overhead
- Add strategic margins to maximize both competitiveness and profitability
- Partner with project managers and cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and client expectations
- Lead internal quote review meetings when needed
- Maintain cost databases and suggest process improvements for better efficiency

Job requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of cost estimating experience, ideally in the steel or utility sectors
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to analyze data, manage multiple bids, and produce client-ready cost reports
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred
- Positive, team-focused mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments and with vendors
