We are seeking Peer Support Specialists for various departments throughout our organization
General Responsibilities for Peer Support Specialist:
- Provide peer support services to consumers with behavioral health issues , substance abuse, and/or intellectual disabilities
- Function as a role model to peers
- Exhibit competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills, serve as a consumer advocate, and provide consumer information and peer support for consumers in outpatient and inpatient settings
- Assists and guides consumers toward achievement of specific goals identified by the consumer and specified in the Individual Service Plan (ISP)
Qualifications and Skills for Peer Support Specialist:
- Be a certified Peer Recovery Specialist or gain certification within the first 3 months of hire
- Must have lived behavior health experience
- Hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable DMV record
- Experience in using various computer software applications and/or Electronic Health Record preferred
