Overview
The Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing assistance and guidance to individuals facing various challenges related to mental health and behavioral issues. This position requires a compassionate and dedicated individual who can effectively support clients through crisis situations, offering counseling and mentoring while collaborating with other professionals in the field. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a deep understanding of behavioral health systems.

Duties

  • Provide direct support to clients in crisis, utilizing effective crisis intervention techniques.
  • Conduct assessments to identify client needs and develop tailored support plans.
  • Offer addiction counseling and mental health counseling services as needed.
  • Facilitate mentoring sessions to empower clients in their recovery journey.
  • Implement motivational interviewing strategies to encourage positive behavior changes.
  • Collaborate with social workers and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress within established systems.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in behavioral health and crisis management.

Skills

  • Strong background in addiction counseling, social work, or related fields.
  • Proficient in mental health counseling techniques and crisis intervention strategies.
  • Experience with mentoring individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health systems and resources available for clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $15.70 - $17.50 per hour
