Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical administrative procedures, and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems. This role is vital in ensuring smooth clinic operations, providing outstanding patient service, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. The Medical Receptionist will handle patient scheduling, medical documentation review, and administrative support to facilitate efficient clinical workflows.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression while managing multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette.
- Schedule appointments accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems .
- Review and update medical records, ensuring proper documentation review and adherence to clinical confidentiality policies.
- Assist with patient intake processes, including collecting demographic information and updating health histories in EHR systems.
- Maintain office organization through attaching patient forms to patient chart in EHR, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing electronic health records (EHR).
- Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans, documenting procedures accurately, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role within clinics or hospitals.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent computer skills with familiarity in Microsoft Office applications for documentation review and office management tasks.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone communication and office management abilities.
- Prior clinic or hospital experience along with mental health office experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
