Western Omelette has been serving Colorado Springs for over 34 years, and we are looking for a strong, hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house team with excellence, accountability, and heart.
We are a high-volume breakfast and lunch restaurant with a loyal customer base and a team of 27. This position is for someone who doesn’t just “run a kitchen” - they build systems, develop people, and protect standards.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Lead and supervise all kitchen operations during service
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and ticket times
- Order food and supplies based on demand and sales trends
- Control food cost and minimize waste
- Create and maintain prep systems and daily processes
- Train and develop line cooks for speed, accuracy, and teamwork
- Schedule kitchen staff efficiently based on volume
- Maintain labor percentage goals
- Conduct weekly inventory and manage product storage compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations
- Address performance issues professionally and immediately
- Work alongside the team during rushes — this is a working leadership role
What We’re Looking For
- 3 years of kitchen leadership experience (high-volume preferred)
- Strong understanding of food cost, labor management, and inventory systems
- Ability to lead calmly and confidently during heavy rushes
- A coach mindset — develops people instead of tearing them down
- Organized, detail-oriented, and systems-driven
- ServSafe Certified (or willing to obtain)
- Available for weekends and peak hours
- Willing to step in when needed to support the team
