Summary of Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers.
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns
- Understand the AICPA’s Code of Professional Conduct, generally accepted auditing standards and the accounting standards established by relevant designated standard setting bodies.
- Become familiar with pertinent IRC sections and regulations
- Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
- Obtain working knowledge of tax and accounting research techniques and the various research sources within the firm
- Obtain working knowledge of firm technology, including time and billing software
- Become proficient in the preparation of corporate, individual, partnership, fiduciary and other tax returns prepared by the firm
- Perform assigned audit procedures for specific accounts and transactions under the supervision of more experienced staff.
- Prepare well- written reports that clearly communicate audit findings under the supervision of a more experienced staff.
- Organize and update financial records. Prepare financial reports for clients as needed under the supervision of more experienced staff
- Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the senior accountants
- Gathering and analyzing client information
- Answering accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of accounting experience (internships count).
- Strong verbal communication, business writing and presentation skills
- Ability to plan, execute and deliver multiple assignments
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to learn
- Strong organizational skills
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Office and accounting software
