Staff Accountant
Warren County Chamber of Business & Industry (WCCBI)
Location: Warren, PA (On-Site)
Reports to: President & CEO
Schedule: 25–40 hours per week (Full-Time or Part-Time Considered)
Position Overview
The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in strengthening the financial operations of the Warren County Chamber of Business & Industry. This position goes beyond basic data entry and bookkeeping to support accurate financial reporting, internal controls, and financial insight that informs leadership and board decision-making.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working independently — someone who not only records transactions but understands what the numbers are saying and can identify when something doesn’t look right.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks, including general ledger entries
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and internal reports
- Identify trends, variances, or anomalies in financial data and flag concerns proactively
- Support preparation of reports for leadership and the Board of Directors
- Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis
Qualifications & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5 years of accounting experience (nonprofit experience a plus, but not required)
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
- Comfortable analyzing financial data and asking questions when numbers don’t align
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong communication skills, especially when explaining financial information to non-accountants
