Forklift Operator II

Overview

This position is a forklift operator responsible for the safe and efficient movement of pallets throughout the sack warehouse. Primary goal is to assure safe and efficient production and highest product integrity.

Responsibilities

• Clean-up left-over product around tanks and other equipment.
• Load/Unload trucks cars with forklift.
• Operate forklift and other equipment/machinery to support production on a daily basis.
• Stack bags of product in a concise and consistent manner.
• Line pull, load/unload product, pick/pack product
• Operate belt-driven machinery used in the production process.
• Cross-train with other departments to provide consistency throughout the Company.
• Provide back-up support for other roles as necessary.
• Available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis, as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.

Qualifications

• Two years manufacturing experience, preferably in a warehouse/sacking environment
• Forklift experience; certification required.
• Warehouse experience preferred.
• Basic operating knowledge of augers, belt-driven machinery, elevators, and other equipment used in the production process.

Skills

• Understanding of machine operational processes and procedures.
• Familiarity with industrial equipment operations and care.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
• Pro-active, self-motivated, and honest.
• Forklift certification required.
• Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirments

• Continuously lift/move/push/pull objects weighing up to and including 50-pounds; regularly lift/move/push/pull objects weighing up to and including 75-pounds.
• Frequently stoop/crouch/bend/climb/push/pull objects to complete the essential functions of this position.
• Vision sufficient to safely perform the essential job tasks.

Environment

• Continuously exposed to outdoor/uncontrolled weather conditions.
• Regularly exposed to work near moving parts/equipment.
• Regularly exposed to major amounts of dust.
• Regularly exposed to moderate to severe noise levels.
• Occasionally exposed to propane and/or chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
