In addition to instructional responsibilities, the position provides critical academic and programmatic support to the student-led Society for Excellence in Human Resources (SEHR), which plays a central role in fostering student engagement, professional development, and retention within the HR program. This role contributes significantly to the academic quality of the curriculum, especially within the core BBA courses, and the co-curricular student experience by supporting experiential learning, career readiness, and a strong sense of community of HR students and business students in general.

Major Duties
  • Teach four or equivalent courses in the spring and fall semesters. The courses may include but are not limited to:
o MGMT4100 – Global Human Resources Management
The purpose of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the key practices associated with effective global human resource management. In this course, we will explore various topics like expatriate management, global staffing and performance management, and dimensions of cross-cultural management. Essentially, the course aims to enhance student insights into some of the key challenges facing global operations in their pursuit of effective human resource management.
o MGMT 3540 – HR Analytics
This course covers the use of quantitative techniques for decision-making in human resource management. It may include analytical techniques such as correlational and regression analysis, trend analysis, forecasting, etc. There will be an emphasis on identifying trends and interpreting results based on data in employee data sets. o MGMT 2500 – Organizational Behavior
This course provides an examination of individual, interpersonal, group, and organization processes faced by employees. Current theory, research, and practice regarding variables that influence human behavior are discussed and illustrated through experiential learning. Emphasis is placed on learning relevant to goal setting, managing change, team processes, reward structures, human productivity, and career management in organization settings.
o BUS 1750 – Applying Business Fundamentals
In this course, students are first introduced to a brief history of for-profit business enterprises in market economies. Then, essential business functions are discussed and how, when properly integrated, these functions work together to provide customer value and generate profits. Students are familiarized with conceptual and quantitative business models. They will use these models to resolve business problems and evaluate market opportunities through experiential teaching methods, including classroom discussions, interactive assignments, group tasks, and reflection exercises. Students will further experience dynamic decision-making and demonstrate the ability to identify, define, interpret, and react to market factors by using an integrative business simulation. The simulation provides a hands-on experience in the use of information systems in business management and leadership in a small group setting. This course satisfies Western Michigan University Essential Studies Level 1: Foundations – Oral and Digital Communications Category.
