The Western Massachusetts Training Consortium in Holyoke, Massachusetts hiring a Part-Time Human Resources Generalist (24 hours/week) at $24.00/hour. This is a non-exempt position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
ADMINISTRATIVE:
- Participate in the recruitment process, hiring processes including background screening, and
Job postings and onboarding new hires
- Process new hires, rehires, reassignment, and transfers. Including setting up of time/swipe cards, assist with onboarding and offboarding tasks in the HRIS system
- New hires, rehires and onboarding and offboarding process
- Conduct the new hire Welcome Orientation and ensure all documents and forms
Are entered in the HRIS system
- Administer COBRA data for separating employees
- Prepare and update the Leave of Absence tracking spreadsheet weekly
- Reconcile monthly benefit vendor insurance invoices to ensure accuracy; provide cost and
Backup data to finance and payroll
- Prepare data for government documents for compliance
- Track benefit enrollments and costs
- Work closely with Finance and Payroll to provide information and data
- Create and manage the personnel files including tracking performance review dates
- Maintain organized files and records of active and terminated employees
- Track benefit enrollments and costs
- Work closely with Finance and Payroll to provide information and data
- Review benefit vendor invoices and reconcile with census data and provide backup data to
Finance and payroll
- Track performance review dates.
- Administer CORI’s and fingerprinting requirements for new hires
- Perform regular audits of the HRIS system to ensure accuracy.
Employee Relations:
- Receive employee concerns and refer to HR Director or appropriate resource
- Foster a positive work environment, reflective of Consortium values
Benefits Administration:
- Participate in the annual Open Enrollment process including meeting with employees, disseminating information, tracking and entering information in HRIS system, and filing enrollment data.
- Assist with employee benefit programs, including health insurance, life insurance, dental, and retirement programs.
- Run regular reports in the HRIS system for audits and other needs
Compliance:
- Provide data to ensure the Consortium complies with labor laws and regulations; prepare data for government reports such as HIRD report, 5500 and Worker’s Compensation documentation.
Performance Reviews:
- Assist with the performance review process; track and manage inventory, file in personnel files, follow up to ensure completion.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate data. Maintain digital and manual filing
systems
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications. Intermediate Excel skills including
Formulas, developing spreadsheets, updating spreadsheet's, etc.
- Minimum education: Associates Degree
- Minimum 3 years’ experience using Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal communication skills with an empathetic presence.
