**Medical Office Specialist (Clinic Manager)**

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Clinic Manager provides day-to-day operational

support for the WIU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic and the Western

Autism Clinic of Excellence (WACE). The position works directly with

clinic coordinators, faculty supervisors, student clinicians, graduate

assistants, clients, patients, families, healthcare providers, schools,

and community referral sources to ensure that clinical services operate

efficiently and in compliance with applicable requirements. The Clinic

Manager independently oversees clinic reception, registration,

scheduling, clinical documentation processes, communications, equipment

Coordination, And Other Operational Functions Associated With

speech-language, audiology, and WACE services.

WORK LOCATION: Macomb Campus

APPOINTMENT: As soon as possible

HOURLY WAGE: \$17.949 - \$19.744 (anticipated starting salary \$17.949)

  • College education with coursework in a medical or para-medical field

such as nursing assistant, medical assistant, or medical secretary

and/or business fields such as business, finance, computer science,

public administration, or social science, as measured by the following

Conversion Table Or Its Proportional Equivalent

\*30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)

\*Associate\'s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18

months)

\*90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)

  • Work experience comparable to that performed at the Medical Office

Associate level or in other positions of comparable responsibility.

  • Pre-graduation applicants are welcome to apply. In order to be

considered for employment, the degree must be conferred at the time of

application, unless applicant is in the final semester of a degree

program; if so, the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.

For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally

accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or

equivalent from an international accrediting body).*
