Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
Supervisor: Vice President, Human Resources
Location: Glenview, IL – hybrid opportunity to work remote up to 1 day a week to start
Salary Range: $75,000 to $90,000
Position Description
Currently, we are seeking a driven and determined individual to join our team as a Human Resources Generalist. The HR Generalist will support all areas of HR including HR operations such as payroll and benefits administration, talent acquisition and onboarding, employee relations, staff events, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources Operations – Payroll and Benefits Administration
1. Process payroll and execute associated activities including tax ID applications for new states, updating payroll deductions as needed, keeping track of exceptions each payroll and updating, etc.
2. Maintain and optimize HRIS system (Paychex); oversee the benefits administration portal.
3. Administer onboarding processes including pre-employment activities, new hire paperwork, facilitation of onboarding sessions.
4. Create and send out benefit reminders/highlights to staff.
5. Collaborate with benefit brokers and providers, support the benefit renewal and open enrollment process.
6. Update items on employee portal such as payroll, benefit, and company information forms.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
1. Create and update job descriptions and postings as needed.
2. Post open positions and research new platforms to post roles, passively recruit, etc.
3. Phone screen strong potential candidates, pass on qualified applicants to next level of management.
4. Assist with in-person interview scheduling, offer letter creation, and delivery.
5. Collaborate with managers on initial onboarding steps.
6. Onboard new employees including adding them to Paychex system, reviewing company procedures, policies, and benefits, benefit enrollments, etc.
7. Support summer intern program; help build out.
8. Research applicant tracking systems; help integrate.
Employee Relations
1. Draft Staff communications as necessary; send out office updates.
2. Create and send out staff monthly newsletter and employee spotlight series.
3. Plan Staff events including lunches, trainings, wellness competitions, etc.
4. Assist Vice President of Human Resources with leading Management and AllStaff Trainings.
5. Administer employee rewards and recognition program.
6. Support Opportunity and Outreach initiatives and staff events.
7. Serve as a point of contact for the office for any questions or concerns that may arise.
Compliance
1. Stay up to date with relevant state and local laws, ensure policies and practices align.
2. Update Employee Handbook as necessary.
3. Send out and/or complete annual tasks such as policy reminder, anti-harassment training, OSHA reports, EEO-1 report, etc.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or Business, from four-year college or university and/or equivalent work experience.
· Two to ten years of work experience in a human resources and/or financial role.
· HR Certification (HRCI or SHRM) or plans to pursue certification preferred.
· Knowledge of HRIS, Payroll, and Benefit Administration systems; Paychex experience preferred.
· Understanding and Experience working with payroll concepts such as taxation, deductions, retirement plan limits, and employer legal requirements (i.e. FMLA, EEO-1 reporting, Required Trainings by State, etc.).
· To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Word and Teams.
· Experience working with Adobe, Mailchimp, and InDesign is also preferred.
