If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for the overall supervision and coordination of the Paralegals and Legal Administrative Specialists, as assigned, in the Criminal Division. The incumbent also provides substantive legal support to AUSAs in specialized litigative activities.

Qualifications:
Specialized Experience: To be qualified for the GS-12 position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in federal service independently performing a variety of analytical paralegal or legal work which demonstrates a practical knowledge of law, the litigation and judicial process, and applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Specialized experience is defined as: planning and/or overseeing work schedules to ensure even workflow and meeting deadlines; overseeing attendance, leave and vacation schedules to ensure proper staffing levels; performing substantive research, evaluation and analysis of a variety of specialized legal topics and points of law; reviews, proofreads, and edits lengthy and complex legal documents; verifies citations and statutory references against original sources; coordinates production of administrative records and responses to requests for discovery; and prepares and organizes trial exhibits, documents, memoranda, reports, and correspondence relating to cases for review by AUSAs.Responsibilities:

Typical work assignments will include:
- Providing assistance to attorneys in trial preparation by compiling trial notebooks, assembling jury instructions and preparing witness exhibits list.
- Managing the support staff to timely provide high-quality services.
- Planning the work of the staff to ensure that work product meets organizational goals and priorities, consistent with applicable guidelines and policies.
- Monitoring individual staff performance and taking action to promote optimum staff effectiveness.
- Ensuring that performance ratings are timely and accurately completed.
- Collecting, organizing, processing and producing documents, electronic files and other materials required for criminal discovery.
- Monitoring and distributing workload among assigned legal support staff.
