The primary location of this position is on-site in Cullowhee, NC.
Reporting to the Senior Assistant Director for Operations, the Assistant Director for Operations (Evening and Weekends) provides support for day-to-day operations and events held in Campus Activity operated spaces during Evening and Weekend hours. During normal shift hours, this position will act as the professional staff for all events designated by the Event Management policies and procedures. It will coordinate with campus partners and third-party contractors and vendors to ensure event success.
The Assistant Director for Operations will recruit, train and supervise a staff of 10-20 student tech crew members, schedule the student tech crew staff to set-up, run, and strike designated events, and evaluate and provide feedback to student tech crew members job performance on an on-going basis. This position will serve as mentor/coach when needed in support of professional development for student staff, and collaborate with the Senior Assistant Dir. For Operations to create a training program for student tech crew members.

It will assist in maintenance and equipment updates to enhance DCA programs and the University Center as well as review and provide recommendations to update DCA policies.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
- Organizational & Communication Skills — Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; outstanding customer service abilities; ability to prioritize workload by volume and urgency.
- Leadership & Team Management — Ability to effectively supervise and lead a team of student workers; experience with live events and crowd management techniques.
- Technical & Facilities Knowledge — Knowledge of sound equipment and operating a live concert sound system; general knowledge of facilities maintenance; capable of lifting 50 lbs.
- Software Proficiency — Working knowledge of 25Live or other event reservation software; proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
