SUMMARY

Westerman, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician with a proven ability to troubleshoot advanced mechanical problems in an efficient and safe manner throughout the facility. This position is responsible for preventative and mechanical maintenance and must possess intermediate knowledge of machine repair. A successful candidate is a self-motivated problem-solver that utilizes a strong work ethic to ensure all quality levels are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees. 

• Complete mechanical repairs and make adjustments as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all machinery as assigned.
• Successfully troubleshoot mechanical problems.
• Complete welding and fabrication tasks with little direction.
• Accountable for entering data into maintenance system timely and accurately.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS                                                                                                                    

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and plumbing
• Basic mechanical, welding and cutting skills
• Should be capable of reading mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic prints
• Good problem-solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality
• Basic computer skills
• Meter usage and ability to complete measurements
• Basic math skills
• Lockout/tagout, fall protection, PPE, confined spaced training
• May require CPR and first aid training

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to entire length of shift (10 – 12 hours).

• Some aspects of this position may require working in tight quarters (inside vessels).
• Must be physically able to crawl in and out of vessels.
• Some aspects of this position may require close vision, depth perception, the ability to see small detail, and the ability to adjust focus.
