Position Summary

Our Design Consultants work directly with clients in their homes or in showrooms through pre-scheduled appointments. This is a consultative sales interior design role where you will create custom storage solutions and deliver a premium customer experience from concept to installation.

Key Responsibilities

As a California Closets Design Consultant, you will:

• Offer a luxury experience through product expertise and elevated service
• Provide in-home design consultations and space planning
• Design custom solutions using proprietary CAD software
• Own the full client lifecycle: consultation → design → sale → installation
• Work with interior designers, decorators, and architects
• Manage multiple client projects with strong attention to detail
• Travel daily to appointments in Rockland, Orange, & Sullivan counties

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in sales, interior design, home improvement, or related field
• Strong consultative sales and closing skills
• Ability to build rapport and develop client relationships quickly
• Highly organized with excellent time management
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects
• Strong communication and presentation skills

Requirements

• Tech savvy – ability to learn proprietary CAD design software
• Must provide own laptop compatible with CAD program
• Must be able to travel frequently to Rockland, Orange, and Sullivan counties
• Valid driver’s license required
• Full-time availability

Compensation

• Paid training
• Uncapped commission structure
• On-target earnings: $85,000–$120,000
• Pre-set, qualified appointments provided

Work Environment

• Field-based, in-home sales role
• Combination of client visits, remote design work, and showroom collaboration
