What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lower School Assistant position at Westchester Country Day School?
Westchester Country Day School, a PreK-12 college preparatory school located in High Point, NC, seeks a Lower School Assistant Teacher starting in the 2026-27 academic year. The Assistant Teacher will support the lead teacher in the classroom. Previous work with children and/or teaching experience with elementary age students is preferred. Candidate must possess a minimum of an associate’s degree. A willingness to contribute to school activities, a team-oriented work ethic, ability to teach groups of students, and an enthusiasm for working with young children are characteristics we are seeking in a candidate. Daily working hours will be from 7:40am-3:15 pm Monday-Thursday and 7:40-2:00 on Fridays with occasional expectations to work outside of these hours for scheduled events or meetings.
