Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support classroom teachers and enhance the learning experience for young children. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering a positive, inclusive environment for students. The Teaching Assistant will work closely with children across various age groups, including preschool, toddler, and infant care settings, ensuring their developmental needs are met with care and professionalism.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and educational activities aligned with curriculum standards
- Support children's social, emotional, and developmental growth through engaging interactions
- Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and transitions to ensure safety and proper behavior management
- Provide individualized attention to children with special needs or disabilities, supporting their participation in classroom activities
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Support children's routines such as diapering, feeding, nap times, and other caregiving responsibilities
- Assist in documenting children's progress and communicating observations to lead teachers and parents
- Implement basic first aid when necessary and follow health protocols to ensure children's well-being
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings is preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
- Prior experience with special education or working with children with disabilities is a plus
- Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in nurturing young learners
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience with classroom management, caregiving, babysitting, nannying, or similar roles is advantageous
