Duties
- Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining strict aseptic techniques to ensure infection control.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and security.
- Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to support safe treatment environments for all patients.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology accurately and supporting procedures with proficiency in anatomy knowledge and medical imaging.
- Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and ensuring smooth clinic flow.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure or registration as required by local regulations.
- Proven experience in general dentistry with a strong background in pediatric dentistry preferred.
- Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including X-ray techniques, infection control protocols, and aseptic technique.
- Familiarity with Open dental
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices to accurately document patient care.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment and operate medical imaging equipment confidently.
- Strong understanding of anatomy related to oral health and the ability to support complex procedures such as prosthodontics and endodontics.
