Duties
- Provide attentive patient observation to monitor health status and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts
- Administer medications and perform basic nursing tasks following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks aligned with dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation standards
- Conduct regular safety checks, maintain cleanliness of the facility, and ensure a hygienic environment through routine cleaning duties
- Support residents during social activities, facilitate group interactions, and promote engagement to enhance mental and emotional well-being
- Document care activities accurately, including vital signs, medication administration records, and incident reports in compliance with health regulations
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, or hospice care is advantageous
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders
- Strong patient monitoring skills with attention to detail in observing changes in condition or behavior
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in patient transfer or mobility assistance
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals
