Duties

• Provide attentive patient observation to monitor health status and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts
• Administer medications and perform basic nursing tasks following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks aligned with dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation standards
• Conduct regular safety checks, maintain cleanliness of the facility, and ensure a hygienic environment through routine cleaning duties
• Support residents during social activities, facilitate group interactions, and promote engagement to enhance mental and emotional well-being
• Document care activities accurately, including vital signs, medication administration records, and incident reports in compliance with health regulations

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, or hospice care is advantageous
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders
• Strong patient monitoring skills with attention to detail in observing changes in condition or behavior
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in patient transfer or mobility assistance
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals

Adult Day Care Worker – Job Description

An Adult Day Care Worker provides care and support to elderly or disabled adults who attend an adult day care center. The goal is to ensure participants are safe, comfortable, and engaged throughout the day.

Responsibilities:

• Assist participants with daily living activities such as eating, walking, and personal hygiene.
• Provide supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
• Help organize and lead recreational activities, games, and social programs.
• Serve meals and assist clients who need help with feeding.
• Monitor participants' health and report any changes in behavior or condition to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment within the facility.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to participants.
• Assist with mobility, including helping clients move from chairs, beds, or wheelchairs.
• Follow facility policies and safety procedures.
• Communicate with staff and family members when necessary.
