Position Overview
Westbrook Toyota is hiring an experienced Used Car Manager / Buyer to lead our pre-owned operation. This role is ideal for a process-driven automotive professional who can source inventory, work directly with customers, and lead by example while developing a high-performing sales team.
Responsibilities
- Source and acquire used vehicles through trades, direct purchases, auctions, and internal prospecting
- Appraise vehicles accurately and competitively
- Manage pricing, merchandising, and inventory turn
- Work with customers on appraisals, purchases, and deal structuring
- Train, mentor, and hold sales staff accountable to dealership processes
- Utilize DMS and CRM systems to prospect for trade, equity, and purchase opportunities
- Partner with Sales and F&I to maximize profitability and compliance
- Demonstrate leadership through professionalism, customer engagement, and accountability
- Prior experience as a Used Car Manager and Buyer
- Strong appraisal and inventory management skills
- Finance & Insurance experience is a plus
- Ability and willingness to deliver vehicles when needed
- Process-oriented with strong follow-up and organizational skills
- Comfortable working directly with customers
- Working knowledge of dealership DMS, CRM, and lead management platforms
- Proven ability to coach, train, and lead sales professionals
