VETERANS AND ADMISSIONS SPECIALIST
MOUNTWEST COMMUNITY & TECHNICAL COLLEGE-CABELL CO.
Reports to: Director of Admissions and Recruiting
Salary: $40,000/year, non-negotiable. Non-classified, exempt, benefits eligible position.
Serve as the primary point of contact for veteran and military-connected students, including eligible spouses and dependents. Serve as School Certifying Official (SCO) and ensure accurate, timely certification of VA educational benefits in compliance with applicable regulations. Maintain veteran student files, records, and supporting documentation with accuracy and confidentiality. Assist students in understanding and accessing VA education benefits, tuition assistance, and related resources. Coordinate and support JST submission and evaluation processes to help veteran students receive applicable transfer credit. Monitor enrollment, academic progress, and schedule changes that may impact benefit eligibility, and report changes as required. Collaborate with campus offices and community partners to promote veteran student wellness, support services, and recruitment opportunities. Help coordinate veteran outreach, engagement activities, and programs that support student success and belonging.
Assist prospective students through the admissions and enrollment process, including application completion, document collection, and next steps. Support recruitment efforts through on-campus and off-campus events, outreach activities, and presentations. Assist with orientation, enrollment events, and other admissions-related programming. Connect students with academic programs and appropriate campus resources. Represent the College professionally in the community and assist with special projects. Other duties as assigned.
Associate degree in education, student services, business, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in admissions, student services, veteran services, recruitment, or a related area. Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to manage detailed records, interpret policies, and maintain confidentiality. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and student information systems/databases.
Salary : $40,000 - $75,000
