TAX CLERK - WV STATE AUDITOR'S OFFICE - KANAWHA COUNTY
Job Location: Capitol Complex 1900 Kanawha Blvd E. Charleston, WV 25305
Salary: Starting at $33,000; commensurate with experience
Responsible for assisting walk-in customers, fielding queued calls and returning calls from the department call log. Assist customers by generating statements for delinquent taxes via mail/email. Process and deliver incoming mail along with verifying Notice to Redeem entries. Enter certified return mail, box, and send to storage. Process walk-in cash redemptions and prepare deposits daily. Assist with other redemptions as needed.
• Review and verify information carefully to ensure documents are processed with minimal error
• Ensure all activities and processing comply with internal policies, procedures and state code
• Provide excellent customer service to taxpayers and purchasers while addressing concerns and inquiries with professionalism
• Assist taxpayers and purchasers in understanding their obligations and the collection process
• Complete processing of daily duties within established deadlines and according to code
Experience and Skills
• Experience with Windows based computers and Microsoft products
• Quality Control with attention to detail and accuracy
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be punctual with dependable attendance
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Education or the GED equivalent
Salary : $33,000 - $75,000
