Classified-Exempt Position
Parks and Recreation/Blackwater Falls State Park The Laborer is part of a devoted team of employees that serve the public through customer service and maintenance of the facilities and grounds at Blackwater Falls State Park. This team member is under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Performs maintenance and repair duties indoors and outdoors that include all aspects of building and grounds upkeep. Provides excellent hospitality to all visitors through interpretation and notification of park rules, guest reservations and registration, fee collections, staff training, and resolving guest issues. Maintains and cleans facilities. Stocks wood at cabins, and removes snow. Desirable skills and knowledge include verbal and written communications skills, office and sales equipment knowledge, knowledge of building and ground repairs, ability to organize and complete tasks, and the ability to operate a chainsaw, mowing equipment, dump truck, and other motorized equipment. Employee must be willing to attend and obtain wastewater certification training if needed. Must have a valid driver's license. Performs other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required.
