Building Maintenance Supervisor 1

Parks and Recreation/Chief Logan State Park Under general supervision of the Building and Grounds Manager, this employee supervises all aspects of the building maintenance program at Chief Logan State Park. Employee must have extensive practical knowledge of and experience in carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, heating/air conditioning, and the ability to supervise maintenance, renovation and repair projects. This individual supervises other employees and prepares schedules and assigns duties based upon priority and need. This supervisory position performs the same or related duties as assigned to staff as well as visually inspecting work performed. This individual is responsible for supervising and performing maintenance on, around, and in all buildings, appliances and equipment within these buildings, water lines, electrical systems, telephones, roofs, and any other facilities necessary. Has the ability to plan renovations and other special projects. Employee must work with park guests to immediately resolve their maintenance requests in a manner reflecting a positive image for Chief Logan State Park. Also works directly with Superintendent to plan and conduct repairs and upgrades in related areas. Supervises and schedules auto maintenance and orders supplies for maintenance and cleaning. Responsible for upkeep of tools and all work areas. Works to foster good employee, community, and park guest relations. Always maintains safe work practices for self and other staff. Employee must be available for emergency repairs and to be scheduled on an "on-call" basis as needed. Employee shall be required to wear the uniform provided and must have a valid driver's license. Employee must be available to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and night shifts. Employee must be able to lift and move heavy objects and must be able to work on ladders and at rooftop heights. Regular attendance required. Employee performs all other necessary duties relating to the park and the job as assigned or required.

Experience: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in general maintenance or construction work on buildings, grounds, or electrical and mechanical equipment, at least one year of which has been in a leadwork or supervisory capacity. 
Special Requirement: Specific positions may require certification from a federal EPA approved testing organization as a certified technician required by the Clean Air Act on refrigerant recycling.

Salary : $31,533 - $53,916
