Salary and rank are commensurate with education and experience.
Responsibilities
- This appointment will include a 15-credit hour teaching load per semester in Education.
- Other college level courses may also be assigned depending on the selected candidate’s credentials.
- Teaching assignments may include evening, weekend, hybrid and/or totally on-line instruction.
- In addition, duties will include academic advising, committee service, program and course-level assessment, program support, effective use of learning management systems, student recruitment/retention, CAEP accreditation work, and professional development.
- Most instructional duties will be at the main campus in Parkersburg but may also include instruction of classes at other WVU Parkersburg campuses.
- Use of learning management systems and demonstrated effective use of technology is a condition of continued employment beyond the first year.

Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Education from a recognized, regionally accredited college or university.
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree with at least 18 semester hours of graduate credit in Education, with 18 semester hours of graduate credit in Special Education is preferred.
- Certification in Elementary Education K-6.
- Minimum of three years of documented, contemporary professional experience in an elementary classroom setting (PreK-8).
- Eligibility for WV Licensure.
- Higher education teaching experience, knowledge of CAEP Accreditation Practices, working with Professional Development Schools and experience with action research in professional development schools is preferred.
- Demonstrated use of advanced technology systems such as learning management systems or similar technologies.
- Understanding and application of assessment practices is strongly preferred.
- Successful college-level teaching experience is preferred, as well as prior effective use of technology in instructional delivery, and a willingness to deliver courses in all instructional modalities.
- Demonstration of teaching effectiveness is part of the on-campus interview.
