- Bachelor's Degree in a Social Service related field
- Identify Homeless Children and Youth
- Assist unaccompanied youth with educational needs
- Inform parent/guardian of educational and related opportunities available to students in transition
- Disseminate public notice of the public educational rights of students in transition to places where these children receive services; such as schools, shelters, food banks or community agencies
- Provide students with supplies, resources, referrals or personal items as needed
- Assist students with transportation if necessary
- Provide in-service for school personnel, community agencies and civic groups (if requested)
- Inform child nutrition regarding homeless students
- Maintain contact with community agencies regarding identification of and services to homeless students
- Create file system and maintain accurate records
- Comply with federal monitoring procedures
