Quality Technician (Primary Compute Suite) — Fremont, CA

West Valley Staffing Group is seeking a meticulous, detail-driven Quality Technician to join an Advanced Hardware Manufacturing Operations team in Fremont, CA. This is a long-term contract opportunity supporting the production of complex, software-controlled electro-mechanical assemblies.
In this technical role, you will perform quality control activities for the Primary Compute Unit (PCU) and Compute Suite production line, ensuring compliance with quality standards and internal procedures. Core Responsibilities
- Carry out IQC, IPQC, and OQC tasks across a wide range of parts, including injection moldings, castings, PCBAs, and complex electro-mechanical sub-assemblies.
- Use precision measuring tools — calipers, micrometers, height gauges, DVMs, and similar instruments — to verify component integrity.
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs and entering data into the quality database.
- Maintain accurate quality records in compliance with internal procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure correct quality movement of products (physical and virtual) throughout the entire serialized manufacturing process.
- Assist engineers with proper Material Review Board (MRB) disposition activities.
- Identify and initiate non-conformances, participate in root cause analysis (RCA), and assign items to the correct owners.
- Perform calibration and maintain test/measurement equipment to ISO requirements as needed.
- Submit PPAP documentation for approval.
- Suggest improvements to quality inspection processes and procedures.
- Comply with all safety regulations and the site safety program.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Key Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 4 years of progressive QA experience in a fully or semi-automated serialized production environment building complex electro-mechanical assemblies (aerospace, automotive, medical device, or robotics industries).
- Software: Proficiency with quality control tools, SAP or Oracle ERP software, and MS Office / Google Suite.
- Communication: Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to handle tight deadlines and manage competing demands effectively.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with complex high-end computer or rack assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or ISO 13485 standards.
- Certification in metrology.
