Mobile Service Technician (Entry-Level)

This is a full-time nonexempt role, with a pay rate starting at $16/hr. The expected work schedule is during West Motor normal business hours.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, vehicle inspections, and tire rotations, directly at customer locations or fleet lots.
• Execute authorized manufacturer recall work and light warranty repairs, utilizing step-by-step guided instructions and completing all required dealer training.
• Diagnose and resolve minor mechanical issues that are safe and practical to handle in the field using the van's tooling and inventory.
• Accurately record all work performed, complete repair orders, and capture necessary photographs of components or inspections to match in-shop standards.
• Flag and route any complex repairs, heavy lift work, or jobs requiring specialized tools back to the shop coordinator rather than attempting them off-site.
• Keep the service van clean, fully stocked with required parts and fluids, organized, and properly maintained for daily field operations.
• Act as the primary face of the dealership during on-site visits, delivering exceptional customer service and a professional presentation on every stop.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
• Possess basic mechanical aptitude and a foundational understanding of automotive tools and maintenance procedures.
• Prior light mechanical or service shop experience is preferred, though heavy professional or master-tech experience is not required.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to represent the dealership professionally and independently at customer homes and businesses.
• Active driver’s license. Comfortable operating and driving a company service van safely in various traffic, weather, and parking conditions.
• Reliable work ethic, good organizational habits, and the ability to follow step-by-step technical instructions and manufacturer guidelines accurately.
