Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, and early childhood education.
- Utilize learning technology and educational resources to enhance classroom instruction.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and informal observations; adjust instruction accordingly.
- Provide tutoring and additional support to students requiring extra help in areas like literacy education or math.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school activities, and educational initiatives.
- Support students' social-emotional development through mentoring and guidance.
- Incorporate special education strategies when working with children with autism or other learning differences.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents.
- Engage parents and guardians through regular communication regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in an educational setting; familiarity with early childhood education, Montessori methods, or private school environments is a plus.
- Strong classroom management skills to create a safe and productive learning environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment strategies including standardized testing.
- Knowledge of learning technology tools and library services to support diverse learning needs.
- Experience working with students with special needs or behavioral challenges such as autism or early intervention programs.
- Writing skills for documentation, report writing, and instructional materials creation.
- Ability to mentor students individually or in small groups; experience in tutoring is advantageous.
- Familiarity with teaching physical education and integrating movement into daily lessons is desirable.
