Position Overview
West Lake Country Club is seeking an energetic, responsible, and enthusiastic Summer Camp Lead to help create a fun, safe, and engaging camp experience for our members’ children. This leadership role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with kids, thrives in a team environment, and can confidently lead activities while maintaining a positive and organized atmosphere.
The Summer Camp Lead will assist in planning and supervising daily camp activities, support camp counselors, and help ensure campers have a memorable and well-structured summer.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily camp activities including games, crafts, outdoor play, and themed events
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and fun environment for campers of varying ages
- Ensure camper safety and enforce camp policies and procedures
- Assist with activity planning, setup, and cleanup
- Coordinate with the Director of Member Experience on camp structure, campers, and day-to-day operations
- Communicate professionally with parents, members, and other club staff
- Support and guide camp counselors as needed
- Manage transitions between activities and maintain daily schedules
- Handle minor conflicts or behavioral situations calmly and appropriately
- Help maintain organized activity spaces and equipment
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Experience working with children required
- Previous summer camp or youth program experience preferred
- CPR and/or Lifeguard certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Comfortable working outdoors in summer weather
- Ability to stay energetic, patient, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
Availability:
- Monday-Friday, Late May-Early August
- 8 am-4 pm or 9 am-5 pm, hours may vary
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
